Aegean Skin and Massage Therapies becomes first spa in United States to offer innovative cellulite therapy: Slipstream (TM) Cupping Massage.
Boca Raton, FL, September 16, 2004 -– "We are thrilled to be the first in the US to offer this therapy for our clients. In addition, being the first US distributor of Slipstream Cupping Massage equipment is the next step in our strategy of being the most innovative spa in South Florida," says Kim Shivler, co-owner of Aegean. "The first time I had Slipstream Cupping Massage, I was so impressed with the results and improvements in my circulation I immediately made the decision to introduce this therapy to our customers," says Ms. Shivler.
According to Eeva Vahla, creator of Slipstream Cupping Massage and co-owner of Slipstream Therapy Inc, "Aegean was selected for our product launch due to their demonstrated leadership in spa technology – they already offer Rolfing ®, Ashiatsu, Myofascial release, lymphatic drainage and many other therapies. It was a natural choice for us to partner with Aegean on our US product launch." Ms. Vahla is a certified Finnish massage therapist and personal trainer with 20 years of experience in classic and innovative therapies and techniques. Ms. Vahla has an impressive track record in this space; she founded the Lady's Fitness Center for Women in Finland in 1989 and is the only therapist in the US certified in Voice Massage ™.
"In Europe, and in my native Finland especially, massage has long been a respected part of many medical therapies. I was happy to find Aegean in the US, due to their unique focus on the health of their clients," says Ms. Vahla.
"Slipstream Cupping Massage is based on cupping from traditional Chinese medicine, which has a track record of thousands of years of successful results. Our product is adapted for convenient modern use by massage therapists, chiropractors and plastic surgeons," says Kathy Rutland, co-owner of Slipstream Therapy, Inc. and fitness professional with over 20 years in the industry.
"Through suction and negative pressure, cupping massage releases rigid soft tissue, drains excess fluids and toxins, loosens adhesions and lifts connective tissue, bringing blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles," says Ms. Rutland.
Slipstream Cupping Massage
Cupping massage therapy is recommended to prepare the tissues prior to liposuction surgery as well as post surgery to speed recovery and drain excess lymph from the tissues. For clients not interested in surgery, this treatment can breakdown cellulite and reduce the appearance of "dimples" in the skin.
The increased local blood supply to the muscles and skin will bring nourishment and allow for toxins to be carried away through the veins. Clients often feel deep warmth during the session and a tingling sensation long after the treatment has ended. Massage cupping is not an irritant to the skin or body. It draws the inflammation out, yet does not add to it. This technique is excellent when used as a contrast therapy with cold compresses or liniments.
