Worth A Shot: Les Nouvelles Esthétiques magazine presents news on mesotherapy
September 16, 2004 -- Women everywhere struggle with cellulite and pray for the day when a "cure" for the condition is discovered. Examining the newest European import, mesotherapy, Les Nouvelles Esthétiques' September magazine presents the latest on cellulite therapy and asks the question, "Is the end to cellulite only an injection away?" LNE's September issue is dedicated to alternative therapies in the spa and esthetics industry. In "Worth a Shot," Dr. Charles Mok presents information on mesotherapy, an alternative to liposuction.
First practiced in the early 1950s in France and widely practiced throughout Europe and South America, mesotherapy only recently came to the shores of the United States, quickly becoming a popular and sought-after treatment for ridding patients of cellulite and fat deposits. In his article, Mok, the first physician in Michigan to offer mesotherapy, discusses what causes cellulite, the history of mesotherapy and how it works, and what type of person is the "right candidate."
"Our goal at LNE is to offer our readers a worldwide look at the ‘face' of skin care and spa therapies," said Monica Schuloff Smith, LNE editor in chief. "With this in mind, Dr. Mok brings a breadth of experience and knowledge of mesotherapy, which is a cutting-edge technique proving to be increasingly popular in the United States," Smith adds.
Dr. Charles Mok is the founder of the Michigan Mesotherapy Institute in Shelby Township, MI, and Allure Medical Spa in Michigan. He is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Mesotherapy. He is also an assistant professor at Des Moines University and clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University.
The American edition of Les Nouvelles Esthétiques has been in circulation since 1985 and is the only monthly publication in the industry devoted exclusively to skin care and spa professionals. The focus of the magazine's articles is to educate skin care and spa professionals in all aspects of the beauty industry. For subscription information, log on to www.LNEONLINE.com.
